August 10, 2005Desirable Roasted Relaunch and Reload
Update: Friend Neville Hobson instantly spotted that I had somehow disabled the Comments function.... it's up now. Thanks, Neville! It's taken its sweet time. But Desirable Roasted Coffee is redesigned, relaunched and (I hope) reloaded for blog-bear. And I do hope all you subscribers come by, have a look, and let me know what you think. The process took longer than it needed to mainly because I have been trying to combine enjoyment of an especially fine summer with some exciting new projects that have flown in over the transom. Michael Neergaard-Holm, a good friend and even better designer, designed the new look. I'm very grateful for his help and advice -- a professional designer always works wonders. » New Blog Designs All Around from hyku | blog - Josh Hallett Tracked on Aug 17, 2005 4:33:09 PM CommentsJust a test comment. Posted by: Allan Jenkins | Aug 10, 2005 1:22:01 PM Looks good. I always like something different from the usual Typepad templates. Posted by: Josh Hallett | Aug 10, 2005 1:27:02 PM It looks terrific, Allan, congratulations! Definitely worth investing the time in creating a place that clearly reflects you and the image you want to project. Posted by: Neville Hobson | Aug 10, 2005 2:07:13 PM Allan: Nice new look. I especially like the "intersection" graphic! Posted by: John Wagner | Aug 10, 2005 4:09:37 PM My first impression brought to mind a favourite phrase of my Newfoundland colleagues: "Lord Thunderin' Jaysus!" Second impression - it's distinctive, and most of all it is something it wasn't before: easy to read. Posted by: Tim Hicks | Aug 10, 2005 6:39:43 PM Tim, I had you (and your earlier comments) in mind during this process. John, glad you like the intersection... Michael came up with that right from the start, and I was hooked. Neville & Josh, it is worth the time. Blogger, Typepad, et al, make it so damned easy to create a blog that one figures... ok that's good enough. And it is "good enough" but it's not "you". You two are "you" on your blogs, and that was a big inspiration for Michael and I. Thanks for the good words. Posted by: Allan Jenkins | Aug 10, 2005 9:14:57 PM Great new look Allan. Congratulations on your re-launch. Posted by: Warren Bickford | Aug 10, 2005 9:37:39 PM WOW!! What a FANTASTIC new look. Damn your hide, Jenkins -- you have now raised the bar considerably for the rest of us and thus are going to cause us angst and many sleepless nights in futuile attempts to design an equally sweet interface. I'm telling Matron on you... Posted by: Lee | Aug 10, 2005 9:58:46 PM Oh mate!! Your 'subscribe' page is "sweeeeet" (as my teenage son would say) --- I'm going to pinch that idea straight away and use it on my blog. Ta very much!! The new site looks great. -mark Posted by: mark wagner | Aug 15, 2005 2:24:35 AM Post a comment |
